Abstract. In the 2019/20 school year, the Covid-19 pandemic positioned teachers in a challenging scenario, when face-to-face classes suddenly switched to an entirely online format. However, few resources and not so much research have been devoted to listening carefully to what teachers have to say about it. Through case study, this article recollects the voices and experiences of seven teachers with the aim of studying their needs, desires, understandings and beliefs regarding their teacher role, their professional purpose and their professional development during that period. With this aim has been used an interview and a questionnaire, which has been answered twice, both have been analysed through discourse analysis method. We defend that public policies should place the teacher as a subject that continuously generates a kind of knowledge which is essential for understanding the education system. So on, what these seven unique voices might reveal to us has to be taken into account when developing any contextual and effective educational system improvement.
